King & Lasso reveals plans for family-friendly entertainment and recreation complex
NEW BERN, N.C., [May 29, 2026] – King & Lasso will continue investing in the New Bern community with a family-friendly entertainment and recreation complex – complete with an ice rink, driving range, batting cages and outdoor concert venue.
The Ice Barn at King & Lasso will be a versatile facility with a 200-foot by 85-foot ice rink, plenty of lounge seating and a bar. King & Lasso envisions the rink as a hub for figure skating, hockey, community events and year-round activities. With a snack bar and open floor concept, The Ice Barn at King & Lasso will be an ideal space for birthday parties and celebrations.
Golf lovers can practice long-distance drives from ground level at The Range at King & Lasso, which features an 8-bay driving range. The Cages at King & Lasso will give athletes and families a space to train and play at a 6-cage open-air batting facility with pitching machines.
“We’re excited to give children and teens a place where they can have fun, get active and just be kids in a safe and welcoming environment,” said Deion King, founder and chief executive officer of King & Lasso. “I hear it all the time – that New Bern needs more spaces for our youth – so we’re going to answer that call.”
An outdoor music venue, King & Lasso Under the Lights, will be at the center of it all. With a capacity between 800 and 1,200 people, the concert venue will have VIP seating options, a fire pit lounge, space for food trucks and multiple bars.
“King & Lasso Under the Lights will be valuable to New Bern residents and visitors alike, providing connection and community through music, ” King said. “We hope people can create lasting memories at this venue, whether it be during a concert or music festival, or even a private event like a wedding.”
To focus on providing New Bern with much needed spaces for families and youth, King & Lasso will temporarily shift its focus away from the Elks Building to develop this complex at 5650 U.S. Hwy 17 S.
